Arnold Bax. A British composer in the first half of 20th century. Recently I heard a clip of Bax 3rh symphony and some of his symphonic poems in naxos. Very fascinating music! It is full of colors and ideas. somewhat like Delius but more richness in orchestration. anyone here heard of him?

聽過他的交響曲（記不起是那一首了），Chandos出品。該曲十分主重銅管的位份。感覺上他受到Wagner不少的影響。

wagner? his music reminded me of Mahler upon first hearing. very descriptive， but structurally quite elusive to me... just curious about him.

his viola sonata is a very fine work.Tertis has a very good recording.

Bax算是复兴中提琴的第一人了，不过比起普里姆罗斯来，技巧还是粗糙了很多。我个人觉得普里姆罗斯此曲的录音更适合现代听众，Bax版里太多的滑音换把现在听来有点别扭。
